i'l pleut

A.K.A it's nice weather for ducks here today. Jessica asked if we could make a model giraffe this morning. Our crafting efforts usually consist of spreading sheets of paper with as much glue, sequins, paint, and other random items as we can find, which gets a bit repetitive as you can imagine. As it turned out we had an old amazon cardboard box, an egg box, some googly eyes and some paints from the cupboard (we used gold as we didn't have any yellow available and brown). Now I don't want you to get too jealous but here's how he turned out:

I'm sure you've always wanted to make your very own cardboard giraffe model (that even stand up on his own can you believe) so here's how to do it:

You'll need:
Strong card board
One egg box
2 googly eyes
Paints
  • Cut four equal lengths of strong card for legs.
  • Cut one longer piece of card for the giraffes neck.
  • Fold each of the pieces of card (4 legs, 1 neck) twice length ways and tape down into a rough triangle shape.
  • Tape neck and legs to the top of an egg box.
  • Cut out one section from the bottom of an egg box for the giraffes face and stick to the neck.
  • Paint yellow (or gold!)
  • Glue on two googly eyes.
  • Paint brown patches.
